Mission: Zero Waste is a School-wide Waste Reduction Program for North Shore Elementary Schools. This fun and hands-on program will motivate your school to take steps towards creating a zero-waste community. From initial staff meeting to final assembly, Mission: Zero Waste takes about 7 weeks.

The program involves:

• Week 1: Staff Meeting (30 minutes, includes Q & A period and scheduling)
• Week 2: Weigh Garbage (can be done by green team or select students)
• Week 3: Program Launch Assembly (15 minutes, can be combined with another assembly)
• Week 3-5: In-class Presentations (One-hour long, in-class, curriculum-linked presentations for each class. Includes multi-media presentation, craft and follow-up activity)
• Week 6: Weigh Garbage and Hold School-wide Event (such as a Zero-Waste Lunch Day)
• Week 7: Celebration Assembly (15 minutes, can be combined with another assembly)
