We're offering a free workshop to show you exactly how to avoid conflicts with bears due to fruit trees. Fruit Trees and Bears: Learn How to Grow Fruit in Bear Country runs Sunday, August 8, 2010 (10:30 am to 12:00 pm) at the Lynn Canyon Ecology Centre. Since 1997, Call2Recycle has been the organization coordinating
drop-off depots and recycling of rechargeable batteries in BC. Beginning
July 1, BC residents are now able to recycle ALL household
batteries, rechargeables and non-rechargeables. For more
information, visit call2recycle.ca or call (888) 224.9764. Please note this is a product stewardship program and not a program of the North Shore Recycling Program or your local municipality - please direct all questions about the program to the contacts listed above.

LightRecycle is the
new BC Fluorescent Lights Recycling program, brought to you by Product
Care (the program that handles your old paint and pesticides at the
transfer station). Starting July 1, BC residents can now
drop off their burned-out household fluorescent lights and tubes
for safe and responsible recycling. Visit lightrecycle.ca for more information.

The North Shore Recycling Drop-off Depot is back to extended hours for the spring and summer (April 1 through October 31). The Depot is now open 8:00 am to 9:00 pm weekdays, and 8:00 am to 6:00 pm on weekends. For more information about our drop-off depot, visit the depot page at dropoff.northshorerecycling.ca).
